Renewable energies, energy saving, climate change mitigation and adaptation and the environmental policies are the main focus areas for AGIS Environment.

GERES - IndiaGERES India, is the indian branch of the GERES. The organization main objective is to improve rural people livelihood in cold desert areas of the Western Himalayas. Today 3 main projects are carrying out by GERES India are : LIGHT project (Learning Income Generation in the Himalayas Together) PSH project (Passive Solar Housing the western Himalayas) and a project of Ecotourism in Markha Valley.

Practical Action Nepal (former ITDG) works to improve the livelihoods of the poor and disadvantaged by implementing sustainable development. They aim to achieve this by building technical skills and undertaking the research, application and dissemination of appropriate technologies. They are currently working on cost-effective building construction technology and healthy homes programs.

The Building and Social Housing Foundation (BSHF) promotes sustainable development and innovation in housing through collaborative research and knowledge transfer. They are leading a project called “Scaling-up and Mainstreaming of Good Practices for Sustainable Development” and organizing the World Habitat Awards.
